PaddleAsia specializes in small group sea kayaking, river kayaking, mountain biking, jungle survival, rock climbing and outdoor adventure travel tours to remote and unspoiled destinations in Southern Thailand. With over 34 years of paddling experience, PaddleAsia is the most experienced kayaking tour operator in Southern Thailand. Being highly certified through many international safety organizations, PaddleAsia is one of the most safety-conscious tour companies in Thailand.
First-timers and beginners are more than welcomed.
Immerse yourself in natural beauty with a kayaking or other outdoor program that is right for you. We are dedicated birders, wildlife and nature lovers. Your tour is designed for first-time paddlers and novice travelers. Experienced kayakers and sports persons are, of course, also welcomed.
We are not
really in the day trip business per se, but we do run unique Phang
Nga Bay day trips on request. Our day trips, like
all of our trips, are designed to get away from all other tour
groups. It is our mission
to offer you something completely different from what the other tour operators
in the region offer you.
kayaks instead of sit-on-tops or
inflatables. Traditional kayaks are
perfectly suitable for first-timers and beginners. They are also more
efficient and much more comfortable.
We are a nature-based paddling adventure travel company and that's our life philosophy as well. Therefore, every aspect of our lives (personally and as tour leaders), is geared toward the enjoyment of the environments and fragile eco systems without unduly changing them.
PaddleAsia's primary means of experiencing an area is using muscle power to lessen the impact on the environment and to get closer to wildlife and the natural wonders of the destinations that we visit. This does not mean our trips are strenous. Easy trips are available as well.
You will find paddling kayaks to be the most practical balance between exposing yourself to a new environment and not interfering with existing ecosystems.
Should you prefer, we also offer land-based hiking, mountain biking and tropical mountain climbing trips as well as jungle survival courses. You can also participate in a two-day budget jungle survival training course in Phang Nga Province. Bushcraft courses are also available.
Dave was the jungle survival expert (consultant) on two episodes of The Discovery Channel's "Dual Survival"
Our Koh Yao Noi biking day trip is a wonderful way to experience this culturally-intact island in a healthy, low-impact manner.
Kayak Adventure Tours
Some trips are easier than other. Our Khao Sok National Park kayaking trip is very easy. You will spend a lot of time just sitting in your kayak watching monkeys and birds. The Phang Nga Bay trip is another easy trip. Both of these tours offer stunning limestone karst topography. If you don't have enough time for a multi-day trip, you can participate in a Phang Nga Bay Day Trip.
You are welcomed to combine any of our tour destinations. One great combination for birdwatchers is combining Khao Sok National Park and Phang Nga Province.
You will stay in bungalows or guesthouses on most trips. We usually choose our accommodations according to the quality of their restaurant! Comfort, convenience, and great food is our hallmark. To read more about the bungalows and accommodations, see our bungalows page.
No Kayaking Experience Necessary
Experience is certainly not necessary for most trips. Beginners and novices receive training as needed during the trip. Many guests have not paddled before. Kayaking is an ever-growing and rewarding recreational activity. Nothing beats sneaking up on wildlife from the convenience of a kayak. You will have experiences in a kayak that you simply cannot by any other means. If you would like to learn more about kayaking and more advanced paddling technique, take a kayak school course. You can also have a custom kayak tour.
Trips that are Suitable for Everyone
PaddleAsia is not just for the young lion. The fitness level required is not meant to be intimidating. You do not have to be an athlete. Our average guest is middle age or older. Families are, of course, very welcomed too.
Kayaking is one of the most positive forms of eco-tourism.
