Mountain
biking Trip Itineraries:
Half-day
Mountain Biking Trips (Very Easy)
This trip starts
at a group of lakes and meanders through secondary growth, along power
lines, through oil palm and rubber plantations and small villages.
The route includes
single tracks as well as dirt and gravel roads. Much of the ride is in
the shade. In fact, more than half is in the shade.
During the
rainy season (May through October), you will get a bit muddy. It’s
all part of the fun.
The routes
vary in length, though most are around 20 kilometers in length. Longer
routes are available.
Tell us the
type of trails and scenery you desire and we’ll put you on the right
path.
Full-day
Easy Mountain Biking Trips (Easy)
This trip is
in an area in the northern end of Phuket. It starts in a park area that’s
almost entirely in the shade. From there, it meanders through prawn farms,
cultivated areas, a power line and secondary growth. There tends to be
quite a few birds in this area.
This
is an ‘a’ to ‘b’ ride. It starts in the area described
and works south for as far as you like.
Lunch is included
on this trip. We normally stop in small local restaurants and get a more
authentic Thai meal that some of the typical touristy meals.
Ko Yao Noi
Mountain Biking Day Trip
We also offer
a very nice mountain biking day trip on Ko
Yao Noi in Phang Nga Bay. This is an excellent way
to see the bay and to enjoy the laid-back lifestyle of the islanders.
You can have as easy or as difficult a ride as you desire. It's all there.
Hardcore
Mountain Bike Day Trips
If you like
to push it and want a more challenging ride, you’ll get just that.
Phuket offers steep single track trails, mountains and big hills. There’s
almost every type of terrain available on Phuket.
Contact us
and let us know the type of ride you want and approximately how many hours
you’d like to ride and we’ll make the appropriate suggestions.
Dangers
– some of the hard-packed clay trails are slippery. These areas
will be pointed out by your guide. The way around this is to go very slowly
or to dismount and walk the bikes. There are some thorny bushes in places.
If you don’t mere off of the trails, this won’t be a problem.
